These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Tonguelet — Heritage Language Hour Tracker application ("the App") published by Bulpara Inc ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

Tonguelet is an iOS application that helps parents log and visualize the time their child spends with a minority or heritage language. It is a private, on-device tracking tool. Features include one-tap quick-log presets, a live timer, backdating, source tags, a weekly target "band" view, exposure trends, an optional home-screen widget with one-tap logging, a Shortcuts action, optional reminders, and CSV / PDF export. All data is stored locally on your device.

2. Not Medical, Educational, or Clinical Advice

Tonguelet is a supportive log, not a diagnosis, an assessment, or professional advice. You understand and agree that:

• The App does not teach a language, deliver a curriculum, or assess your child's language ability.
• The weekly target band (often discussed as roughly 15–25 hours per week) is a popularized guideline, not a clinical rule or a guarantee of any outcome. What matters most is steady, loving exposure — not a magic number.
• The App is not a substitute for advice from a qualified speech-language pathologist, educator, or medical professional. If you have concerns about your child's language development, consult a professional.
• You set your own bands. Any target shown is a tool for staying mindful, not a measure of success or failure as a parent.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the App's source code beyond what applicable law permits
• Attempt to circumvent subscription restrictions or free-tier limitations
• Use the App in any manner that violates applicable laws or third-party rights
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the App

4. Subscriptions & Billing

• Free tier: No charge, no account, no ads. Includes unlimited logging (presets, timer, backdating, sources), 1 child and 2 languages, the this-week green-band view, the last 30 days of history, and free CSV export.
• Premium Monthly: $4.99/month. Unlocks unlimited children and languages, long-term trends (up to 6 months), week-over-week analytics, the home-screen widget with one-tap logging, a Shortcuts action, and shareable PDF progress reports.
• Premium Annual: $29.99/year (save 50% vs. monthly), with a 7-day free trial. Same Premium feature set as monthly.
• Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's Terms of Service.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• If you cancel during a free trial before it ends, you will not be charged.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Existing subscribers retain their original price for the remainder of the active term.

5. Your Content & Privacy

Children, languages, logged entries, photos, and history are stored locally on your device. You retain all rights to the information you enter. We do not access, collect, or store your content on any server. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, and packaged content, is owned by Bulpara Inc and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for its intended purpose.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT USING THE APP WILL PRODUCE ANY PARTICULAR LANGUAGE OUTCOME FOR YOUR CHILD.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BULPARA INC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Decisions made based on logged data or the target band
• Any language-learning or developmental outcome for your child
• Loss of locally stored data due to user error, device failure, or failure to keep a backup
• Subscription-related charges that fall under Apple's billing policy

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bulpara Inc from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the App or violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the business. Because the App runs locally, you may stop using it and delete it at any time.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions.
